This month at Harbor Lights, we are focusing on the book of Galatians.
In his letter, Paul focuses on unity in the body and the gospel of grace. Paul points out that justification comes by faith in Jesus Christ and not through works or traditions. This truth is still the same today. We cannot overcome sin in our lives by our own works, culture, power or traditions.
We are saved by grace. We are set free by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. But we need to understand that being saved by grace is not a “free to live how we want” card. We have been set free from the power of sin and death, but we are called to live a lifestyle of holiness and purity. We must walk according to the Spirit, not wavering to the right or to the left. We must keep our eyes on Christ, read His Word and obey it with our whole hearts.
In Galatians 1:3-5 it says “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
