As we near the Easter holidays I am reminded yet again of the true meaning behind Easter. It’s not about a bunny appearing with chocolates or fuzzy yellow chicks. It isn’t about the ham or family traditions or dressing up. It’s about love.
Billy Graham once said, “God proved His love on the cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you.'” Easter is about our Father in heaven, who loves us so much, that He sent us His only Son, Jesus, to die for us.
Jesus died the worst death imaginable to prove His love. He rose again so that all of us can share in that love eternally. None of us are exempted from that love. He died for each one personally.
So this year, as we’re gathered together to celebrate, lets remember what we’re celebrating. Let’s be grateful for Jesus’ wonderful gift of salvation. Let’s share His love.
